Where we take crane rental requests
Crane companies we work with generally serve Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend. Travel time is part of the cost, so the closer you are to a company's yard, the less you'll pay in travel. If your location isn't listed, send the request anyway.
Nueces, San Patricio, Aransas, Kleberg, Jim Wells and Refugio counties are the main coverage area.
Corpus Christi
Downtown, the ship channel industrial corridor, the Southside and Flour Bluff.
Calallen and Annaville
Northwest Corpus Christi near I-37 and the refinery corridor.
Portland
San Patricio County across the harbor bridge; residential and commercial construction.
Ingleside
Port and industrial facilities on the north shore of Corpus Christi Bay.
Aransas Pass
Marine and industrial work near the Intracoastal Waterway.
Gregory and Taft
San Patricio County industrial sites and agricultural work.
Sinton
San Patricio County seat and nearby industrial projects.
Robstown
West of Corpus Christi in Nueces County.
Port Aransas
Mustang Island; access, sand and wind make site planning important.
Rockport and Fulton
Aransas County coastal construction and marine work.
Kingsville
Kleberg County, south of the metro.
Alice
Jim Wells County, west of the metro.
Bishop and Driscoll
Southern Nueces County industrial and agricultural sites.
Working conditions in the Coastal Bend
Wind is the defining local factor. Corpus Christi is one of the windier large cities in the country, and steady onshore breezes with gusts can push a lift past what the crane manufacturer allows for a given load and boom length. Operators monitor wind speed during lifts and will stop when limits are reached. Large, flat loads such as panels, trusses or signs catch the most wind. Building some weather flexibility into the schedule avoids paying for a crane that can't work.
Ground conditions vary from sandy soils near the bays and barrier islands to heavy clay inland. Recently disturbed fill, septic areas and buried utilities can't take outrigger loads safely. Expect a crane company to ask what the crane will sit on, and plan for mats if the ground is questionable. Excavation for footings or anchors in Texas requires a Texas811 locate request at least two working days before digging, which is the excavator's responsibility.
Industrial work along the ship channel, at refineries and at port facilities often requires contractor pre-qualification, site-specific safety orientation, TWIC credentials for secure port areas, and documentation such as lift plans and inspection records. If your job is inside a plant or port gate, mention it in your request so the company can confirm it meets the site's requirements.
Hurricane season, roughly June through November, brings both storm prep and recovery work. After a storm, demand for cranes spikes and availability tightens, so jobs that can be scheduled outside that window often have more options.
Coverage depends on which independent providers are available for your location and job. We can't promise every request will be matched. Free matching service by Voraus LLC. We connect you with independent local crane rental companies. We are not a crane rental company and do not perform the work.

Even a rough description helps. Something like "3-ton rooftop unit, about 60 feet from the curb, two-story building in Flour Bluff, next Thursday morning" is enough for a crane company to start sizing the job.
